Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• Panchang, Choghadiya, muhurat and Kundli calculations run entirely on your device. Your birth details are not uploaded for these features.
• The App does not require an account and does not collect analytics about you.
• The only time information leaves your device is when you choose to send a question to a Pandit, contact support, or make a payment.

2. Information you give us

• Consultation ("Ask a Pandit"). When you submit a question, we receive the name, email address, date, time and place of birth, and the question text you enter. This is stored securely (Supabase, hosted in a data centre we select) and shared only with the Pandit assigned to answer you, so they can cast and read your chart. Replies are sent to the email you provide.
• Support. Messages sent through the in-app Help chat or the Site support form (name, email, message) are stored so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
• Payments. Paid consultations are processed by Razorpay (India) or by Apple / Google in-app purchase where applicable. We receive a payment confirmation and reference; we never see or store your full card number.

3. Information processed on your device only

Birth details you enter for a Kundli, saved charts, japa counts, meditation history, alarms and language or theme preferences are stored locally on your phone (or, on the Site, in your browser's local storage). If you delete the App or clear your browser data, they are gone. We cannot recover them because we never had them.

4. Location

The App asks for location permission to compute sunrise, sunset and timings for where you are. Coordinates are used on the device and are not sent to SynchSoft. On the Site, "Use my location" uses your browser's geolocation for the same purpose and the coordinates stay in the page.

The Site's place-of-birth search sends the text you type to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to find coordinates. See OSMF's privacy policy .

5. Advertising

The free App shows banner advertisements served by a third-party ad network. That network may use a device advertising identifier to limit repetition and measure ad performance, under its own policy. You can reset or limit the advertising identifier in your phone's settings. The Site shows no ads.

6. Notifications

Muhurat alarms and Rahu Kaal alerts are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push-notification server and cannot see whether an alarm fired.

7. Retention

• Consultation records: kept for as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up or dispute, then deleted or anonymised. You may ask us to delete yours at any time.
• Support messages: kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Payment references: kept as required by Indian tax and accounting law.

8. Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/UK you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority; in India, to the Data Protection Board once constituted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

9. Children

Pocket Pandit™ is rated 4+/3+ because it contains no objectionable content, but consultations and payments are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age of consent in your country). Parents who believe a child has submitted a consultation may contact us to have it removed.

10. Security

Data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Consultation and support records are held in access-controlled storage with row-level security, readable only by our Pandit and support staff. No method is perfect; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

11. Changes

We will post any changes here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be announced in the App.
